Any housewives or other people's experiences with big gaps without work?

I've been a housewife for 15 years and before I was one, I held a job for 5 yrs in the military. This is the only job I ever had. I just finished by bachelors degree ( communication) and enrolled myself in a masters program. I am eager to start my work life in my 40's.

What has been your experience trying to get a job after a big gap with barely no experience? Any advice?
