Years ago I was married and divorced. I never changed back to my maiden name (big mistake). My ex-husband's brother married someone with the same name as me. It's not really a really common name and it could be spelled different ways. Unfortunately, this woman had the same spelling as me. The only thing that's different is our middle names.
Well, she's always in trouble. She's a drug addict and gets arrested a lot. One time I even received a letter that there was a warrant for my arrest for harassment. It had all MY info. I was able to get it sorted with the state police, so I'm not worried about that. What I AM worried about is if you google my name without the middle initial, her arrests show up. I don't want future employers thinking that it's me.
A background check should be fine, but one time I went to the hospital and they had our info merged. Like, my phone number and her address. It was a big mess.
How and when do I bring this issue up, or do I even bring it up?
