Ok, so background information... I just graduated from university as an engineering major and I recently accepted a job. I just started in this industry so I am very very fresh and barely know anything. So as soon as I started my first day, I learn that their sole engineer was leaving in 5 days. So I guess that's why they hired me but what I didn't know before joining is that the engineer leaving was actually the engineering manager??? with over 15 years of experience in engineering/IT/project management??? In the interview process, I clearly explained that I just graduated so they knew where I was in my abilities.
So basically I will be taking over the roles, responsibilities, and projects for this engineering manager. The projects I'll be taking over are million-dollar projects and I'm shitting bricks. Is this normal!!?!?? My employee onboarding has been a 5-day speed-run on crack on trying to learn and know everything before this person left. I've already talked to my boss about this issue and there are no talks of hiring someone with more experience.
Also to add to the dumpster fire, I accepted the salary for an entry-level engineer which has me thinking that I'm actually underpaid for the work that I'll be actually doing. Any advice helpful, please!!!!
