How do I get meaningful insight on candidates in interviews?

I am starting my own team next year and need to fill the team out by end of year.

I have candidates lined up but as a first time hiring manager I’d like some advice on questions that help gleen meaningful insight on candidates beyond the HR script and situational role specific questions.
