Hello reddit. I'm currently interviewing with two companies for a new position. After casually looking/interviewing all year I've finally found two companies I would like to work for. I've decided that (assuming I get offers), I must to take one of the two, staying at my current job is not an option.
Based on how the interviews went I'm pretty confident at least one of the companies will give me an offer, if not both. The company I expect an offer from is the company I'd rather work for. However I am trying to continually remind myself that I do not have a new job until I have a start date.
So far after finishing all my interviews, all I have done is reached out asking for a timeframe of when I should expect to hear back regarding the next steps in the interview process, or on a decision. The hiring manager of one company told me to reach out to him again if I haven't heard back in a week. In my email to him I also thanked him and the other interviewers for their time, etc. In regards to the other company I got in touch with the recruiter who said he's going to talk to the hiring manager tomorrow and then update me with more information. With each company I had one-on-one zoom interviews with around 5 people. I do not have their individual contact information to thank them or speak to them further individually.
I have finished all the scheduled interviews for both companies, including the final interview(s). However with both there is a possibility they could schedule additional follow up interviews/calls/emails, but I'm not aware of either of them planning to do so. I just want to make it clear that that is a possibility.
Anyways, I'm wondering, what should I have done/be doing after having finished the final interviews? It sucks to wait to hear back for a response so it feels like I should be doing something. What, if anything, can I do in the meantime that would increase my chances of getting a job offer? What else are you supposed to do after finishing your final interview?
