I finally got a job a week ago but my job is really far. I drive 50 miles one way into the nearest city daily in a 17 yr old truck which is the only vehicle I and my family have. I accepted the job because I was in dire need for a job / money and that was the only one that called me back for a position after countless applications. Also, my area is rural and has little to no jobs. So far $70 barely gets me 3/4 of a tank and it’s too old to trade-in. A full tank lasts me 4 there & back trips to work. Where I live there is no public transportation and while trying to find a job I went through my savings and credit cards.
I don’t know what to do. My family helps when they can but I know they are barely making it themselves.
If I sold my truck it still wouldn’t be enough for a better car. I was thinking about sleeping in the parking lot at work and being there super early hoping no one would notice but my family is not ok with that because I am a women but we are tapped out financially so it still an option. Since I just started half way through the pay week. I have to wait 3 weeks to be paid since I am new. I just don’t know what to do anymore. My check when I get it will be spent paying back all I borrowed from and on gas. I’m not even sure how I can save for something better.
If you have some advice I’ll take it.
