Hi,
I recently received two job offers. One is a Conditional Job Offer (CJO) from a government agency and the other is a regular offer from a private company. For gov, I am mainly worried about the potential delay in the background check after signing the CJO... apparently this process could take up to a year depending on the person. After it’s complete, they will send me the Final Offer.
I graduated in May and this will be my first full time job. I don’t want to sign the CJO while rejecting the other offer because I’m scared of the too long of a wait and too much of a risk in case something unexpected happens.
My question is then will I be able to technically sign both offers at the same time. I understand it could lead to ethical issues later if I quit the company and join the gov. But it could also be the case where I stick with the company. Just wanted to know if this is possible and hear your thoughts. Thank you!
