So my boyfriend's job was urgently hiring. They were telling the employees to ask everyone if they needed a job because they were seriously understaffed in cashiers.
I have a lot of cashier experience so I thought great! Amazing! I'm finally gonna get a job! And for context, it's a min. wage retail job and my boyfriend has NO management positions or anything. He just started a month ago.
I went in for an interview and they asked how I heard about the job. I guess I fucked up because I said my boyfriend. They have a rule that no relatives or married couples can work in the same department but she said it might be different because we're only dating.
I got a call back today saying that because I'm dating my boyfriend, we can't work in the same department but they don't need anyone in other departments so they won't be "moving forward" with me. Then they had the audacity ask me to suggest the job to others if I knew they were looking.
What the fuck? How are you gonna be that desperate and picky at the same time? Especially when I have experience? It makes no sense.
