What does it mean when the hiring manager says "I can't give you any guarantees, but that was really impressive, we'll be reaching out to you soon"

I had my 4th and final round interview yesterday for a remote engineering position at a late growth-stage, pre-IPO Silicon Valley company. It was 4 hours, split up into 4 parts: 1 technical, 3 behavioral, with all the interviewers being engineers or engineering managers, including the manager who would be my direct boss.

I'm a recent grad with no experience in the tech industry other than a coding bootcamp and self-taught courses, and my degree is in engineering but not related to the tech field, AND this is literally the first company I have interviewed with during my job search, so I will consider myself extremely lucky if I am able to get this position.

I think it went pretty well: I finished my technical exercise 45 minutes ahead of schedule (out of 1.5 hours), so I was able to have an in-depth conversation with the engineers who would be my direct teammates. Stumbled on a few questions, but for the most part I received good feedback on the majority of my answers. Everyone said I asked excellent questions and were impressed with the amount of knowledge I already had about the company and the role (I probably prepped 50-60 hours for just this final round interview).

I think the thing I did to stand out the most was develop a very detailed 30/60/90 plan, outlining my goals and action plan to succeed in the position within 90 days. Everyone said it was very impressive and some showed visible shock at how much I already knew about the position. One of the hiring managers even thought at first I knew a current employee in the position that told me everything about the job (which I didn't).

Two things they said that really stood out to me:

  1. In the last part, which was behavioral, and which I thought I did the best in, the 2 engineers interviewing me said "that was literally the best interview I have ever seen"
  2. In the 3rd part, after presenting my plan, the hiring manager who would be my direct boss if I am hired said "I can't give you any guarantees, but that was really impressive, we'll be reaching out soon"

Additionally, the recruiter said they would be letting me know their final decision by the end of day today. I REALLY want this job, and so I have been extremely anxious all day and I guess I'm just posting this to get people's opinions on whether they think I'm gonna get the offer or not.
