PTSD from COVID nursing—grad school or another career?

I work the majority of Covid in the emergency department in nursing. Right now I am in therapy for PTSD from what I had seen. I was recently excepted into a graduate program for my nurse practitioner, but I’m afraid that the problem is going to be worse if I stay in the field of nursing.

I daydream right now about having a job that’s 9 to 5, during the week and I have nights holidays and weekends off. I make pretty good money but I’m willing to take a pay cut. I’m not sure whether I should get into a different masters degree program or a completely change my career altogether. Does anybody have any advice for getting out of nursing or into a different field of nursing?

My mental health is suffering, my relationships are suffering, I barely sleep, I barely eat and I feel like a shot of myself. I’m glad I’m getting the help that I need, but I can’t continue my career like this.
