Is it wise to compromise with a company by taking an interview at a specific time that they suggest?

I've been invited to a second nterview with a big name fortune 100 company. They came back out the blue like 2 -3 weeks later with an interview request for a specific day/time. I replied to the email with a request for another date because I have an interview with another company that day and would like to be prepared for both meetings. I was honest and told her that. Now I regret being forthcoming. I haven't heard back from this recruiter and have reached out 2-3 times already. So now I'm wondering; Does a big name company have a such a sense of "status" that expect you to comply "or else"? I would love an opportunity to sell myself, but it seems like you're sacrificing your diginity to bend over backwards for an interview time that doesnt work for you. What do you all think about this situation?

Issues like this make me feel some type of way. I'm sensing that competition for prized jobs makes literally everything more brutal that it needs to be. They will shoot you down for any little thing because they have options. I guess in a sense, it's like the modern dating world. I lost an opp recently with another company, mainly because they took the job description down a few days before the meeting, which left me in the dark with specific job details. Yes, I reach out to the receruiter about this, I didnt hear anything. I candidly told the interviewer the truth about the circumstances and his face basically melted right in front of the camera. its like he was saying f off with his body language. Needless to say, I didnt get that job. Thats a little different than scheduling an interview but it seems like honesty is a detriment to success. Im just trying to learn how to play the game.
