After several months of unemployment, I've now started working as a 100% remote temp on a 5-month contract which may or may not get extended.
I'm living near London (UK) and have been thinking for quite some time about relocating to a different part of the country with a cheaper cost of living/better quality of life.
However I'm worried that if my contract is not extended, I will be unemployed again and stuck in a part of the country with much poorer employment prospects. In an ideal scenario, I'd get another 100% remote permanent job, though obviously there is no guarantee of that, with many companies wanting staff to come into the office 1-2 days a week at least (where I am now I can commute into London if needs be, which is where most jobs in my sector are based).
Given this, do you think it would be wise to relocate now, or should I hold off until I get permanent role?
