My workplace has been struggling with attendance at employee appreciation events. They typically hold these events on weekend evenings in the summer with minimal notice. Curious what other folks opinions are on work events held after hours. I can see employees being excited about occasional late afternoon/early evening happy hour during the work week but scheduling an employee appreciation event on the weekend severely impedes on personal/family time. Does anyone else’s workplace hold this same practice? Are people interested in attending work events on the weekends? Am I the weirdo for being entirely uninterested?
