Hello everyone,
I'm new to this reddit page and was looking for it to post this, and I seriously need a second opinion on my current situation.
Briefly, I'm 27 years old and have been working in the aviation industry for 4 years now. I worked hard the past 4 years and was promoted 2 years ago to a mid-senior level, thus moving upwards by 3 pay grades. COVID hit and no pay grades were seen for the past 2 years (thus working for 2 years on my basic entry level salary) and just recently, I received my first pay grade with no additional ones to be seen in the near future. Bear in mind that my position has become extremely difficult during COVID, working in shortages of manpower/resources has rendered me doing all the hard labor in addition to my main duties and managing the entire operation and shift.
Recently, a job opening has opened up for another position with the same pay grade as my current position. The benefits are working 5 days a week (Instead of 6), and overall just a much more comfortable and relaxed work environment at the same level and pay grade, morning duties (instead of shifts), and I receive public holidays (non with my current position). I was thinking I could run this job easily while looking for other positions elsewhere.
The only thing is, that my current manager has promised me a senior level promotion with 1 additional pay grade (a very slight increase in salary) but at the same department, therefor I will still be working within the same environment.
What do you guys think and what would you guys do? Any advice would be highly appreciated!
