Hi Reddit,

So here is my story :

So I am working in a marketing dept. for some shit outsourcing company in India and pay me above average based on the Indian market. Since the pandemic, I got an opportunity for remote working directly for an overseas marketing & consulting company ( part time/self employed ). They paid me an hourly basis and with 2 jobs, I was earning really well. I was able to learn a lot of newer things-only difference is that I am not able to grow into newer things like marketing automation/technology. I know to code and can write programs as well. Both companies' revenue is the same, but the team size is small for the overseas company and my current company has 900 people working. But there are some concerns about my career path :

  1. Since this is a non-IT field, there is very little chance to work thereafter pandemic but what more should I do?
  2. Now if I talk about my pay scale, I belong to the top 10% earners of my age group ( 24-28 ) and I am worried about my market salary price in India after this kind of work experience.
  3. My current Indian company sucks a big time. The clients that I handle are fortune 500 companies. I have to devote my 10 hour working time for this shit job and only 6 hours working time for this overseas company. I am able to manage somehow as there is no pressure as such from both the companies, but how bad does working remotely for an overseas company affect my CV?
