Context: I applied to a city government job 4 or 5 weeks ago and have not heard anything back. I had initially emailed them to get some information and they were more than happy to reply. But, I followed up a few weeks after I submitted and my email bounced because the hiring manager was out of the office for a week. Since then I haven't heard anything.
The position is amazing; kind of a once in a year gem that is hard to find and I desperately want and need it. Is it okay to show up at City Hall to inquire about my application? I don't want to appear pushy but on the other hand, it's a government facility not a private office, I am passionate about getting the position and potentially that could be imparted to them?
If anyone has any insight I'd love to hear it!
