Employment verification for job date question

I quit my abusive corporate job without notice. I technically started it August of 2020, but was hired in April 2020. Since I graduated in May, I didn’t want a gap in my resume and said I started in May..

I have since quit my job as of two weeks ago (July) and have been applying with that start date & have not told prospective employers that I have quit.

I am a bit worried that this stretch of start—quitting dates may result in a red flag for employment verification but have also had many friends be hired back into corporate jobs without any such thing?

Anyone have any stories?
