Applying for a journalism position, have an idea for my cover letter.

I’ve been pondering the idea to just write some wacky story instead of the usual “why I want this job, why I’d be good for this company, etc”.

Whether or not the story is true, I’m wondering if it would be beneficial to put my creative skills to use. I’ve been formal in the application process for a year now and haven’t gotten squat. Perhaps I should try informal?

After all, the worst thing that can happen is yet another rejection email.
