Job seeker here who is currently employed but has been in the process of looking/interviewing. I had applied for a job at a large Fortune 100 bank that I was interested in and went through the process. The team is growing and is currently hiring several people across levels, so I know both the team and HR have a lot going on. The timeline is as follows:
- (2/26) Applied late February
- (3/1 - 4/20) Went through 5 rounds of interviews (met more than 50% of the team)
- (4/30) Final interview (told they are finishing up other interviews the following week)
- (5/12) Ask for update on 5/12, told the decision would be made shortly once the team meets.
- (5/26) Get a call for a verbal offer
When I got the call for a verbal offer the recruiter extended it and asked to confirm the total comp expectation which we had previously discussed. We went back and fourth on the comp package and a potential start date. She said she would propose both the comp package and start date to the head of the team, and send me over the written offer. During this conversation she forwarded me the benefits information. I shared my excitement and gratitude but didn't indicate a verbal acceptance at all because the offer wasn't solidified.
It's only been a a few business days due to the holiday that just passed - but I'm in my own head about the process. I haven't seen anything in writing (yet) and am curious when I should follow up? I'm a few years out of undergrad and have only had 2 jobs so I'm not sure if this is normal or if it's the nature of an extremely large company.
