On Monday I started a new job at a large financial corporation. It's Wednesday night and I still haven't heard from my manager or anyone from my team. Is this "normal"?
I'm working in internal communications for a large financial company with nearly 40 000 employees. I believe my team is quite small, comprised of less than 15 people spread out across the world. I also think my direct manager is 6 hours behind me. However, all of these are educated guesses because I have not even been told the name of my manager, let alone any other detail about them.
Throughout day 1 and 2 there were global onboarding trainings that I took part in. However, today was day 3, and I still didn't hear from anyone.
I contacted the local human resource team as well as the global team and talent acquisition to inquire about what to do. Since I don't have access to the company email yet, I also contacted IT support... as it turns out I need some Token provided by my manager in order to be able to access it.
This is the first time I'm working for such a big company, so I am wondering if this is "normal"?
Some extra info: I moved internationally for this job. This company was voted the best place to work for in the new country where I'm living, but so far communication has been abysmal - from issues with my background check to them giving me incorrect information about required legal documentation.
I really don't know what to think. It has reached a point where I ask HR so often for help that I am embarassed to call or email them now.
