I recently reneged a signed job offer and need to return the equipment that was shipped to me. One of the packages had been opened, am I going to have to repay it?
As the title says, I recently backed out of a job offer due to illness. The client company had shipped out some equipment to me as this was a work from home role.
The box in which the bigger equipment came is untouched. However, they mailed a pair of headsets separately a few days later and the sender's name on the box wasn't the employer but some electronic company. My wife thought it was some stuff that I ordered for gaming and opened the box as well as the headset packaging. The headset itself hasn't been touched though, only it's packaging is open.
How likely is it that the company is going to make me repay for it? Or are they simply going to take it back?
Should I let the company know that the headset packaging has been opened or just return it to them as it is?
