Getting paid less than other new hires

Hi everyone. I just started a new job in the healthcare profession and was offered $18/hour and accepted. It is now my second week at the job, and the topic of pay came up. Turns out the group of people who were hired and trained alongside me for the same exact position are earning $19.

I would understand the difference in pay if others had more experience than me, but after some discussion they told me that I had more relevant experience and certifications than they did and were also confused as to why my pay is lower.

I am unsure of what to do now. I want to be paid equally at least considering I had the experience desired by the job in the first place.
