Hello all,
during the first round of interview with the HR consultant, I asked for their budget of this role and was told 89-150k (seems like a big range). I then panicked (bc of all good the salary potentially can be) and said my range is 90-95k. I aced my interview with the hiring manager who called me before officially extending the offer via email. During the call, he said the budget is 90-95 k and has no problems giving me 95 k...When I asked for 100k he said he can't do that, he has to keep in mind how much he's paying others.
I am wondering if the hiring manager is only BSing me, giving me a range that is different from what the HR consultant said and oddly identical to my "expected" salary?
I will be receiving the formal offer tomorrow at 95k and I plan on countering for 105k (with a good explanation, research, etc).
