Difference Between Resume and Background Check Info?

So I'm doing a background check for a job offer and it's a third-party company. I plan to give the correct dates of employment to them, but it'll be different to what I put on my resume for the hiring company. Will the hiring company be able to see the different dates I've provided? Or will the background company just say I was approved?
