I'm trying to get back to my home state. A customer of mine got me a contact at a company in my home state in my same industry (this company is also a customer of mine). I sent my resume and spiel to the president of a division at this company and he sent it to HR for me. Ended up with a brief phone interview with HR. HR said she would send my resume to department heads that might have a job that lines up with what I'm looking for. When is it appropriate to follow up with HR to make sure she sent my resume? Is it OK to ask her for a contact in that other department? The customer who got me the contact said the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I know this is true, but I want to push it in the right direction without being too pushy. This is my best hope right now and I want to do it right. Thanks!
