I'm getting so discourage. I had my resume professionally done, and I even tailor it to every job. It's just a constant stream of rejections.

*discouraged; typo.

I'm so upset, you guys.

I had my resume professionally done two months ago. I have a ton of really good experience (10+ years) and I am looking for a remote executive assistant position. I read every position with a fine toothed comb and make sure to add in the exact skills they request and tailor my job duties to exactly what is mentioned in the ad. I spend so much time writing personalized cover letters wherein I make sure to reference something about the company after doing a deep Google dive, too. I average 2-3 applications daily as it's hard to find fully remote roles, even during the Covid-related work at home renaissance.

So far I've gotten one response. I was super excited and they liked me but asked for an Excel wizard which I am not. I was honest and said I am not an advanced Excel user because I feel it would be unfair to the person hiring me if she needed an Excel guru from day one.

I'm just getting so depressed. What am I doing wrong?
