Have you been denied for a job due to high credit card debt?

I was recently offered a position at a company, and they told me that they would do a consumer report. I have a good credit score and excellent payment history, however I do have one credit card with a high balance and now I’m concerned that they will deny me employment due to this balance. Has this happened to anyone before? This position is not a finance job or anything dealing with money.
