Hello everyone,
I recently was offered a job position and I had a few questions about a background check and complications. To start, I worked at a chain restaurant before heading to college which closed down shortly after college began. Following this, I worked at another branch of the same restaurant after spring classes and worked seasonally on breaks for years, until it was shut down when the pandemic started. I was seasonally employed, so I put my exit date the month the second store shut down. Even though I didn’t work that month being back at school, I had full intentions of working there that summer if they were still in a business. Because of this, I always thought that was an acceptable end date but now I’m second guessing. Is this going to provide complications with my end date even though it can’t be verified? Also, I was a delivery driver and paid under that title but my boss gave me managing duties so I put both under my resume to distinguish my responsibilities working there. When I do my background check, I am unsure how I should label this, as I maintained both duties but only was titled under delivery driver. I am worried about being flagged even though I had not fabricated my resume by any means. This is my first background check, so I am unsure how to proceed with these complications. On a side note, do you put in past volunteer experiences that did not have relevant experiences to current jobs? I am unsure how to even verify these hours because the volunteer work was not recorded. Ugh this is stressful and I do not want to get flagged/offer rescinded because of some dumb misunderstanding especially after working so hard to finally get a job to land. Thank you for your help!
