Need Help with Formulating Communication with Supervisor about Possible Transition from Part-Time to Full-Time Work

Hello all,

I hope you’re having a wonderful evening (or day). I currently work very part-time at a large newspaper as a foreign language proofreader (~5 hours a week). This works perfectly as I also have a full-time postgrad fellowship. However, my fellowship ends in a couple months, and I would love to try and transition myself to get more full-time work at the newspaper.

My question is, in your opinion: how should I approach asking my supervisor if there are any full-time positions/opportunities available at the newspaper? I’m not looking for any position in particular...more like any position available, should it exist. Any comments and thoughts and welcomed and greatly appreciated.
