Is it typical of managers to ask you to call in to answer questions after you quit?

So I was a bartender at a restaurant for only a month, but since I have a major surgery coming up with a lot of pre-op appointments, I decided to quit. I emailed all the managers 2 days before my next shift. Also note that working here was absolutely hell. Coworkers would tell me of people quitting after 2 weeks, our most used alcohols were always out of stock, and the managers were kinda snappy at the new hires even though there is NO training for any position. It was just a lot of stress from bad management, but I used my medical reasons as an excuse (I would've been out for weeks anyway).

One of the managers just left me a voicemail saying that "my email was clear", but he wants me to call him back to answer some questions. Is that a normal thing to do? I've never had my past jobs ask me of this when I left, and it made me uncomfortable to hear. My gut reaction was that I don't need to do anything after they know I quit, but of politeness, should I call him back?
