Interviewed for multiple roles with same company, received an offer for one position but more interested in second role. How to approach this?
Hi all, I had multiple interviews with a defense contractor and was fortunate enough to get an offer some days ago for the first role I interviewed for. I had an interview with the same company at a different state and felt it went really well and the stuff they do is really interesting as well. The thing is that I got the offer a day after my second interview, for the first role I interviewed for, and they gave me a really short time frame to accept it. The thing that put me off from this offer so far is the lack of relocation, I can't relocate on my own dime across the US at this time and I'm not sure how to approach this since I'm entry level hire. The second role, the HM told me she would let me know within a day about the following steps, however she has not notified me and it's not surprising considering how things move in the defense side of this company. What is the best way to approach this? Should I contact the HM of the second role and tell them I have an offer on hand from them at a different plant? Could this backfire considering it's the same company just located at different plants in the US? I'd much prefer to relocate to the second job I interviewed for if I'm being sincere. Any help is appreciated.
