I got my first full time remote job as a data entry clerk and start on monday. Any tips on how I can minimize my stress and maximize my satisfaction?
Hi everyone,
So after 6 months of searching for a remote job, I finally got one! This job is one of the better jobs for me because of many reasons:
1.) It's remote. I don't have to go to work outside in an office. This is great because I don't have a car. I also don't have to make my own lunch and bring it to work. Instead, I can either eat lunch in my home or walk to a near by restaurant and eat there on my break.
2.) The position doesn't involve working with other people: It's just me, myself, and I. I don't have to deal with clients or angry customers.
3.) The work is simple enough. I basically have a software that I log in to, and copy/paste and type in the dollar amounts of invoices.
The only real thing I'm worried about is the fact that I never had a REAL full time job. I did work for two weeks at a remote customer service job, and that really psyched me out. It was an 8 hour shift and I just couldn't handle it. Maybe it was the type of job I was doing, or maybe it was just the fact that I'm not used to working full time.
So, I would like some help in ways that I can make this job as relaxing and doable as possible. Obviously, a job is a job, so I don't expect it to have no stress at all. But I'm just hoping to get some insight on how to make the days go quicker while I do such a redundant task such as data entry.
Also, I know I won't be able to slack off. Because although this job is simple, I have a large quota to meet daily. So how do I balance being on top of my work while making space for small breaks? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you!
