How likely is it that this bad company that I've applied for, got their act together and became a good company?

So I applied for a security company. All the reviews on glassdoor and indeed seem to say it's an awful company. So I interviewed with them about 3 weeks ago. They have a major contract with BMW. The pay is pretty good for security as well. The BMW company that represents is almost like a BMW municipality because there are like literally 17 different security sites in a five mile radius for this company.

So anyway, I go to the interview. The recruiter seemed very laid back and very very eager to hire me. Now I can't tell if this is because he's just desperate for people because so many people are quitting at alarming rate or because the guy actually really love my resume. I got to meet the manager I would be working under as well. I had the chance to talk to him. He used words like, "Here I treat everyone like they're family." He also said things like, "I will go to bat for you if you ever have a problem." I got to meet him and the manager above him as well, and they all seemed like very pleasant people. That's the good part.

The bad part is when I first arrived at the company the HR manager wanted me in so badly that he wanted me to quit my job so fast that he didn't even want me to give my job two weeks notice. He wanted me to quit on the spot. I asked him, "Ok well I generally like to give two weeks notice as a courtesy to my previous job, but he wanted me NOW. So I asked him when the start date would be and couldn't tell me. So took the job, but never quit my old one, just in case. So we went to orientation and met with a the main manager I would be working with. He also wanted me to quit my job right away as well. I explained to him, that I would not do that until I learned what exact security post I would be working and what my job responsibilities were. The manager couldn't tell me that. He just said, "We have to wait and see what BMW says". So that just seems really sketch to me. I don't like the idea of quitting my job, and not even knowing what post I am going to be working or what my responsibilities will be. However, the manager seemed very nice though. Not sure is this is a good job opportunity or a con. What would you guys do? Would you take the job or keep looking?
