I interviewed with this company last Friday and got a rejection email today (Monday). I thought the interview went really well. I did both the one-on-one interview and group interview. The email stated I did great in the interview and had the right experience, but I wasn't moving on.
I'm upset to say the least. I met the team and liked them a lot and the job just seemed right for me. I don't understand why I was rejected, especially since it has not even been 2-3 business days. The decision was made so fast, I felt like they already had another candidate in their mind before I even did the final interview. It was also a long interview with a test too. I thought I did great and the way the interviewers reacted seemed like they liked me too. Maybe they were just being friendly, but it defs led me on and made me have hope that I might get hired from this company, which makes it so much harder when I got rejected.
I sent back an email thanking them for interviewing me and hope that they will contact me if there are any other opportunities.
I know this is delusional, but I'm still holding on to hope that they will contact me despite the rejection letter. I'm also secretly hoping that whoever they decided to offer the job to, rejects them so that they can backtrack it to me.
TL;DR: Got rejected from job, hope the person they offer the job to will reject them, so that I can get the job. Don't know if it is likely to happen, but very hopeful
