I started my current job February 2020. Me and my director had a great conversation prior to me joining about my growth at the company and the desire for me to become manager. Fast forward to I first start and my manager who I report into does not know her job AT ALL. It was apparent to me and apparent to my director she didn’t know her job (she came from a merger). Anyways I talk to my director and she said that was her job to develop my manager but honestly that never happened.
Fast Forward: I got tired of the BS of my manager not knowing her job and gave my two week notice. My director told me I lit a fire under there asses (her and VP) for what should of been done after 11+ month of dysfunction within the department. They offer to make me a manager with direct reports.
The other position I got was just staff level but same type of money $120K.
Thoughts? What would you do? Super confused.
