Hi guys, I’ve got 5 weeks left of uni and have 2 different job opportunities and not sure which one to take. (Also I’m Australian, located in Sydney if this helps)
I’ll be graduating with a B Design/B Media and want to be an awesome designer and strategist, providing consultancy work for creative, social and product, and ux in 10 years. I’m interested in growing brands and purposeful design.
I’m currently finishing up my internship at a reputable advertising agency. I’ve learned a lot about each division and there is a chance to get a paid internship in about a month if I perform well. Not sure what kind of work I’d be doing but I know agencies offer a lot of skills building and training. There are like 50 other interns and statistically there’s little chance I will get the internship so I’ve been applying for other jobs.
I’m also offered another job to run socials and design content for a fintech company. It’s a new business and would offer me a lot of growth but not as much creative mentorship as an agency, mainly lots of self learning and in-house team culture. They’re flexible about when I can start, I’m thinking of staring in a week or 2 weeks.
My goal is to set foot on the right path. I’m happy to do either role as each position is unique. Is it possible to do both? Might be crazy here but pre-covid I was depressed and couldn’t do anything.
