Job searching for seniors in CA

My father moved to LA 3 years ago. He's 71, retired now but was a former chief purser and aircrafts safety/security instructor for decades. He's not really in need but he just can't stop being active (which is a good think in my opinion). He says he can't be an instructor anymore since he stopped flying for many years now so he's been working as a cashier in a little shop being paid 15$/h.

He's a solvent person of good character and attitude the old good fashioned way. Myself living in France, I have no idea what to suggest or even where to look for a decent job for him. Any ideas? What job type would suit a senior in the US? Is there any specialized platforms with job offers dedicated to seniors?
