Some of my coworkers think I'm weird because I don't go out to get drinks at the bar with them, and I don't talk about the latest Netflix shows and all that. When we have our monthly Birthday celebrations on Zoom, we talk about the interests and hobbies of the people whos birthday in the month. Usually they tend to say something like, " I love hiking, I traveled to X, Y, Z in the summer, I take my dogs to the park" and so on.
The truth is I focus all of my time on my side hustle which is producing beats for rappers/artists. But I'm hesitant to mention it because they'll probably start snooping around and ask to share my music. I would like to keep it private from my work although I did share it with some colleagues that I trust. When it's my Birthday, they're going to ask to share what I do for hobbies, my interests, etc with like 50+ people in the zoom meeting. Obviously, I'm not gonna say I'm going to quit once it becomes my fullt time job, but should I just lie? Not sure what to say.
