Is actually getting to the interview stage a good sign?

So I've been putting in like...10 or 15 applications a day every day for the past month or so and so far all I've gotten is either a recruiter, or the "we've decided not to move forward go fuck yourself" or wildly off-base "come be a warehouse manager from home" scams, but this one job that looks interesting actually asked me to do a small project which was actually relevant to prove some competence with the software it uses and the recruiter showed it to the team lead who apparantly had "Positive Feedback" and so I've actually got an interview. Is that... actually good?

I mean it's farther than I've gotten before are interviews just as hopeless as the rest of the process is? I've never worked at a "real" company before but I do have a lot of released products I've done freelance and with small businesses so the portfolio and mythical "years of experience" is there, but I've never really gone through the "real" job search until now and I'm kind of worried because I never finished a degree and I'm afraid that'll tank it when it comes up. I do mention that I "attended" the college but not that I ever got anything so I'm not lying on anything but I feel like that might tank it. My whole mindset on all of this is "don't get your hopes up" but I would really really like even just a little reason to have some slight hope for this one.
