Hello, late last year I worked at an Amazon warehouse as they’ll hire anyone and it was my first job as an 18-year-old college student. As of right now, I made the decision to not attend school this semester, so I had to look for a job to provide for myself. But holy cow it’s so hard to even find a job that’ll give me an interview. Most of the time I apply on indeed.com, but most of the time I never get a response back. Recently I had an interview for a Nike store that I assumed would be a one on one interview on Zoom, but oh how wrong was I. It felt like a school orientation of some sorts where I was put in zoom breakout rooms with other people who were also competing to get the job. One of the reasons I left Amazon was because it felt like high school, but at least this time I was getting paid. Anyways I’m not antisocial or anything, I can come off as shy and nervous at first, that’s just how I am. So that Nike Zoom interview or where ever the hell it went like shit as a few days later I received an email that they were going with other candidates. My question is why are jobs so hard to get? What happened to the days where a place or job had a "help wanted" sign and you’d show up saying you’re looking for work and they’d say "Great, you’re hired."
