Are temp jobs worth it?

I am currently working part time at a grocery store. I graduated in Spring 2020 and decided to go to grad school because a political science degree is not worth much. I recently was offered a temp job and decided to take it. The recruiter said that the "tryout" usually lasts three to six months and then they would consider bringing me on full time. I was wondering if these temp jobs usually result in a full time job or will I be bouncing from place to place until I finish my degree in spring 2022. Am I wasting my time or is it worth taking a pay raise with more hours in hopes they bring me on full time?
