To list or not to list volunteer experience that's not relevant to the job?

Hi! I've been updating my resume a bit, and I've been reading this about the volunteer experience section:

1. only include it if it's relevant to the job.
2. if you have very little work experience, include it even if it's not relevant.
3. if you have lots of work experience, only include relevant volunteer experience.
4. include it no matter what - it can often make you stand out.

What is your opinion on the matter?
