I’ve been in my job for 6 months and work in finance for a plc. My boss (The Finance Director) is also fairly new to his role having started one month before me.
During the beginning I used to get a lot of meeting put into my schedule out of my working hours (9-5) and I assumed they'd stop once he'd get on top of his schedule. However, it's been 6 months now and I'm constantly getting reoccuring meeting invites from 8am and being asked to slot stuff into our schedules after 5pm. In the beginning I did mention if it would be possible to move meeting times so that they could be within my working hours. But it appears that memo has been completely disregarded.
Whilst my contract does state that I may be required to work extra hours during certain times of the year and month which is understandable and expected. The constant scheduling of meetings outside my work schedule shows a complete disregarded for my working hours and whilst I'm working from home makes it difficult to manage my work/life balance.
This is the first time in my working life where this has been an issue.
I just want some advice on whether you experience/ have experienced the same issue and how you resolved it.
