Laid off earlier last year. Still job hunting. Should I update my resume with when I was laid off?

I've been leaving my resume with my last job as "Present" instead of when I was laid off.

Whenever I'm asked about my last job, I sinply state that I was laid off.

Now I'm wondering if I should just update my resume. I'm still job hunting so I'm concerned that employers will take issue that there is a huge gap now.
