I’m on my last nerve

Sorry everyone in advance but this is gonna be a rant, I think I’m broken or something is wrong but I can’t even land a retail job at fast food or grocery store and it’s so strange cause I’ve seen kids who go to school with me work those jobs but I’ve also seen their behaviour in school and I don’t understand what they’ve been doing or how they do it to get these jobs.

I need to move out of my house after highschool (it’s not even a question I have to leave) and without a job I can’t make any money to support myself, I’m 17 verging the end in about a year or so. On top of that I have a kitten and ik this seems dumb but I’m the one who needs to pay for his food and his vets appointment and I have nothing left and I’m running low on cans (for his food), if my parents find out I don’t have the money they’ll kick him out the next day. And he’s all I have rn.

I’ve barley been making it by doing maid services for people and my friends but it’s getting kind of demeaning going to peoples houses and then seeing kids who go to my school and then mopping their floors and cleaning their toilets. I take pride in the job but i just dislike it personally.

I’ve applied to multiple retail jobs (about 30 so far) already and I’ve ran my resume through my teachers and my guidance councillor and they all have approved it or edited it. And I’ve only been called back for one interview but that was 3 weeks ago and I haven’t gotten a call since.

I’m still actively applying but it’s urgent now and I just wish there were some way out. I have heard people say I should try out a small business but with the pandemic and seeing how I could possibly not make enough to break even I just don’t want to risk it.

I’m sorry if you had to read this stupid rant lol it was just a way for me to write out my frustrations. I’m gonna face this head on and work hard till I get a job!
