Are your references the same people who wrote your letter of recommendations?

Hello Folks,

I have a quick question, I have a job interview this Tuesday, and I've received to letters of recommendation from my previous employers. If the interviewer were to ask me for my references, do I provide him with the email and phone numbers of my two previous employers who wrote my letters of recommendation, or would it be wrong to provide them with two new references to contact?
