Hi guys,
I'm torn between 3 options and I do not have enough experience in the sales field to make a confident decision. I would appreciate any advice that would help to make the right decision and to grow my career. I'm guesstimating that all 3 jobs would have around all the same OTEs (on-target earnings) in the first year.
These 3 options are as follows:
- Staying in my B2C role that I started aprox. 2 months ago. I'm comfortable selling this product as I have had prior experience and I think I can make some good money the way that my clientele and sales are ramping up lately. Pretty happy here right now but worried that it won't help with my career development, as a lot of people say that B2B is the way to go.
- Working for a start-up SaaS company as a BDR. Company made it clear to me it will be a lot of work and my role will be more diverse as they are a start-up. I'm really uneasy about this, I don't want to be overworked and underpaid. Then again, I think start ups have a lot of rewards if everything goes well too?
- Working for more of an established company as an inside sales/account manager doing SaaS as well. This company expects a lot of cold calling/talk time on a daily basis, and it seems like there is a lot of micromanaging. Something that I REALLY dislike.
The reason I started applying to other jobs 2 months in is because I wanted to see some of the options and salaries available for more of a B2B/Account manager role. I've also done some research and everyone says that B2B is the way to go if I'm looking to have a salary in the 6 figures and more of a professional career. I do feel a bit trapped in my current B2C role but I'm comfortable. Thanks guys!
