Toxic co worker

I’ve had this job for about two months and ever since I got here this one guy gets on my nerves. He’s so arrogant and rude when I ask simple questions and just almost an hour ago I almost put this guy in his place. There were so many times I could’ve but I didn’t out of fear of losing my job. I’m just about tired of this guy walking all over me and I fear I might let my anger take control of me and knock his ass out. I’ve even heard of chatting with another co worker and her said that he’s an asshole so he pretty much knows what he’s doing and that even pisses me off more.

How do I put this prick in his place without getting fired?
