SLP undergrad with free time
Hello! I am a junior college sophomore living at home who is majoring in Speech Pathology. I got a job as an RBT 6-9 hours a week but am having trouble increasing my hours. I heard that being an RBT is great experience to prepare to be an SLP. I want to work with kids and am currently working with a 5 year old non verbal autistic child. My question is that I feel like 6-9 hours a week is not enough for me. I will be taking 16 units this semester and would like to work more like 10-15 hours a week... maybe 20 hours a week.
Does anyone have any small job recommendations/volunteer recommendations that I could fill my spare time with and that would also look good on my resume to be an SLP? If you are an SLP, what would do you think would help prepare a potential future slp? Any and all information is much appreciated!
