Hi everyone,
Recently, I interviewed for a role in the finance/accounting industry. I was liked enough to be asked to a second interview a week later, with the boss from interview 1 + his boss + another senior.
I got positive feedback from both interviews, and after the 2nd interview, was asked to complete an online psychometric test + provide 2 references.
The HR person also told me that I was basically competing with 1 other person at the 2nd interview stage, and that there was a chance both of us could be hired.
Going back to the interviews and feedback, I felt like I smashed it. The feedback had 0 negatives, and they were really fond of me and my capabilities. The reference checks are not something I'm concerned about, and they were these online surveys in writing, so both my references came through well for me.
What I am stressed about is the psychometric testing. There was a logical reasoning one, and a compare two statements (agree, slightly agree, cant pick the middle). These have usually stressed me out and when I was applying for graduate roles back in the day, this let me down.
I'm going to hear back in a few days with a decision / potential offer, but I can't help but think or wonder whether the testing would be a determining factor in me getting this role.
Would like to get some people's thoughts on this?
TLDR: did 2 interviews and nailed them, no issues with references, but stressed about psychometric/logic test results.
